Zoopharmacognosy in the Canaries

This was our second zoopharmacognosy course in Las Palmas and the response was encouraging. The participants  were enthusiastic and enjoyed the work.  Above all it was the fascination of seeing how each dog selected the remedies it needed.  We had a variety of scenarios - severe hip dysplasia, arthritis, anxiety, digestive complaints ... It was also interesting to see how the dogs' responses are so individual, some highly expressive and others more subtle.Some did not even wait for the remedies to be offered but came directly and chose what they wanted from the box. 

Zoopharmacognosy in Buenos Aires

This year we held another one day introductory seminar on zoopharmacognosy which was followed by another day and a half dedicated to exploring the main elements of the basic kit that people are working with there: fixed oils, macerated oils, essential oils and dried extracts and minerals. There was a lot of material to cover but now people have a  better idea of the possibilities and properties of their tools. On day two participants had the opportunity to do an individual session themselves so we could discuss various approaches and clarify any doubts.

Zoopharmacognosy comes to Slovenia

On the weekend of September 28th and 29th  two one day workshops on applied zoopharmacognosy will take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia. On the following day private sessions will be held for people whose dogs are not sufficiently socialised to be able to attend the workshops with other dogs. This is an exciting development and we are very much looking forward to opening up this new frontier for animal self-medication. Check the Events page for details!

We are making the final arrangements for a one day workshop on applied zoopharmacognosy to be held in the wonderful city of Lisbon.  Watch this space for further information!

Zoopharmacognosis in Buenos Aires

In December we had the good fortune to be able to introduce zoopharmacognosis to a most receptive group of participants at a one day seminar in Buenos Aires. The beauty of the experience was that they were able to appreciate that this simple tool could be a boon to them in their relations with animals, whether as vets, trainers, breeders or pet owners. The dogs gave us all the opportunity to see that, given the chance, their innate wisdom allows them to choose what they need to support their own health and wellbeing. I am sure that this will be the first of many more seminars in this amazing country!
